Housing & Dining Services Guest Housing

This option is a bit unconventional but very affordable.  These are 4 bedroom, 2 bath apartments run by K-State Housing & Dining Services in which guests would have a private, lockable bedroom. They would share the two bathrooms, living room and the kitchen with other guests of the same gender. HDS provides basic bedding and a set of towels, and each apartment is stocked with basic items in the kitchen. The rental rate is $35/night/person.  Vehicles would have to be registered for Guest Parking (a visitor permit for any surface parking lot will be required to park at Jardine). It is about a 20-minute walk from Jardine to Hale Library.  (Note:  we could organize rides for anyone choosing this option)

Anyone interested will need to submit a Request for Services (select "Guest Housing") and complete all request information. You will need to indicate in the open text box at the bottom of the form that you are with the FSMEC and they will do their best to have you room together. Or if you have a group (of the same gender) that would like to room together it does allow you to choose multiple guests.  You would need to submit this request no later than March 14 and they would be able to bill you individually.

Travel:

• Manhattan does have a small airport (Manhattan Regional Airport (MHK) https://flymhk.com/). It has direct service to Dallas/Fort Worth and Chicago O-Hare.

• The closest major airport to Manhattan is the Kansas City International Airport (MCI) which is roughly two hours from Manhattan.

  • Rental cars are readily available.
