FSMEC is excited to announce the Call for Abstracts for the 2026 FSMEC Virtual Conference!

Submissions are due March 6, 2026, 9:00PM (Central Time)

FSMEC members - $30

Non-FSMEC members - $60

Students – NO REGISTRATION FEES!

 

 

2026 FSMEC Virtual Conference 

Call for Abstracts

 

Conference Date: Friday, April 10, 2026 10:30AM – 3:30PM (Central Time)

  The Foodservice Systems Management Education Council (FSMEC) announces the   call for abstracts for stand-up or poster presentations related to Foodservice Management Research, Education, Practice, or Extension and Outreach.

        Submissions are due online by 9:00PM (Central Time), March 2, 2026

•   Foodservice Management Operations Research Track: Research topics related to foodservice management operations.

•   Foodservice Management Education Research Track: Research in foodservice management education.

•   Foodservice Management Innovative Teaching Solutions Track: Innovative approaches in teaching foodservice management lecture or lab. 

•   Foodservice Management Practice Track: Solutions in foodservice management practice.

•   Foodservice Management Extension and Outreach Track: Extension and Outreach related to foodservice management.

•   Other Track: Submissions that do not fit any of the above tracks.

 

The proposal must include the following information: 

  1. Full title of the presentation. 

  2. List author(s), affiliation(s), and disclosures. 

  3. Primary presenter’s name and contact information. 

  4. Specify a track for your proposal. 

  5. Indicate if you are proposing a stand-up or poster presentation, or if you would consider either format. Stand-up presentations will be no longer than 30 minutes. Poster sessions will be no longer than 10 minutes.

  6. List 2-3 session objectives. 

  7. A structured abstract of no more than 250 words (excluding section titles).

  8. The abstract should include the following sections: 

  • Title

  • List 2-3 session objectives  

  • introduction

  • Methods 

  • Results 

  • Discussion/Applications
